2023 Supervisors of the year

Bruce Ziegler
ORIENTATION
"Bruce because he has been so supportive, understanding, and helpful in any way he can with help in training me early on in my role at Orientation."
‏‏‎ ‎

He also allowed for a lot of flexibility during my time here in this role. I think he deserves a lot of recognition for how well he manages all of the orientation leaders and the events that we have had including trainings. Bruce is always understanding when personal situations arise and he makes sure that everyone in our department always has a voice and is recognized. He is quick to respond if needed and is always eager to help problem solve.
Lorinda Lindemulder
BETH - EL UNDERGRADUATE NURSING
"Not only have I learned so much from Lorinda, but she is also very flexible and understands that her employees are students and have busy schedules."
‏‏‎ ‎

She also makes the work environment fun and exciting and always presents an opportunity to learn. Lorinda is always on top of everything and makes sure to make our needs and feelings as a priority. She is so kind and really considers everything we bring to her attention. She is also very organized and emphasizes team work and helping each other whenever we can. With Lorinda as our supervisor, we always get things done and everyone has their needs met. She’s the absolute best!

Student Employee Supervisor Honorable Mention:

Dejah Watson
DINING & HOSPITALITY SERVICES

Dejah is repeatedly going out of her way to make sure her employees and coworkers have a comfortable, happy work place. I’ve seen her give out goodie bags to coworkers on holidays and is consistently going above and beyond to make sure things run smoothly. She is one of the kindest baristas I’ve ever met and believe she deserves to be recognized for her leadership and kindness.

ㅤNominees 2:

Laura Chandler
Laura Chandler
LAS PSYCHOLOGY

I believe that Laura Chandler is deserving of the supervisor of the year award because she is the most compassionate, caring, and understanding supervisor I have ever had. Laura has not only made sure that I am comfortable and capable of every task I have been given as a student employee, but is also adamant in her understanding that I am a student first. She goes above and beyond to ensure that I am doing well mentally and physically, and exemplifies a profound desire for me to succeed. She not only makes me content to come to work, but excited to have the job that I have and to have the honor of working under her.

Tori Davis

Tori always prioritizes her staff and makes sure that coming to work is something that people look forward to. She has only been with UCCS Campus Recreation for a little under a year but has completely made the most positive different within the recreation center.

Paul Manka
Paul Manka
EVENT SERVICES

I am nominating Paul Manka for this because for the month I have worked with him, he has been extremely down to earth and real with the employees. He actively tries to improve the workplace and is happy to take the time to give in depth explanations and solutions for problems that arise in the work day. From my 2 years of experience with UCCS, Paul Manka is one of the most knowledgeable and helpful staff I have dealt with.

Gordon Stringer
Gordon Stringer
COLLEGE OF BUSINESS - FINANCE

Professor Gordon Stringer was a pleasure to work under as a Teaching Assistant. He demonstrated care for me and my workload outside of the role and was extremely understanding. He also communicated expectations clearly and avoided asking too much from me. When more work was needed than originally laid out, he didn't demand my effort but asked if it would interest me. Felt extremely supported and was blessed to be his student worker.
